OK, so you’ve got the hang of what Project Management is and you think you’re all set with your armoury of Tasks, Deliverables, Milestones, Resource Assignments and so on, and then someone asks which Methodology will you follow…

Damn, can’t keep it simple can they ? Well, it is really, once you remove all the jargon. Project Management Methodologies – or PMMs for short – are really just ‘flavours’ of Project Management, each with¬†their own framework and even specific toolsets, and some may be more suitable to certain types of Projects than others. What they all have in common is that are all designed to help deliver products to budget, on time, and to established quality criteria.

Some of the ‘flavours’ that you may have heard about might include Prince2, PMI, Agile, Six Sigma, Lean, Scrum, and so on.
